Carnival pervert punches girl in the face after she complains about him groping her

Leeds student assaulted at Notting Hill Carnival left with horrific injuries

A Leeds student was brutally punched in the face by a man who was repeatedly grabbing her arse at Notting Hill Carnival.

Mary Brandon, 22, was left with shocking facial injuries and spent nine hours in hospital after objecting to the pervert’s behaviour on Monday.

The Leeds student said: “A man in the crowd grabbed my arse. When I told him not to he did it again. I pushed him away, exercising my right to tell a man to stop touching my body without my permission, so he took a swing at me and punched me in the face.

Mary called her attacker a coward

“Carnival is supposed to be about community and good vibes. I wanted to have a good time but instead I spent 9 hours in A&E because of this coward. I’m so pissed off that this man thought it was OK to hit me because I said no to him.”

And Mary defiantly said she would stand up to anyone who invaded her space again. She said: “I will always stand up to someone who thinks they can get away with this behaviour and I’d take a punch again from this loser or any other loser who thinks it’s OK to treat women like this.”

The brutal attack happened at the Channel One Sound System stage at around 5:45pm. The man is described as about 5″11, of heavy build, black and wearing a black hoodie and a black flat cap. The company behind the stage has appealed for help in catching the culprit.

There were over 250 arrests made at Carnival over the two days

A facebook post said: “Thanks to all who came down to Carnival this weekend, pure vibes. One negative though., a girl was sexually grabbed and then punched hard in the face.
