This video may be a piss-take, but that doesn’t mean it’s funny

81,000 viewers must be wrong

If you thought comedy hit a low point when Michael McIntyre landed his own chat show, then brace yourself.

Three students at Imperial have proved us all wrong with one of those videos that’s meant to be “so unfunny it’s funny”. But it really isn’t funny.

In a bid to rob Loughborough Student Union of the cringe crown, they ran, spun and unnecessarily shouted their way round Imperial’s campus, describing all the delights it has to offer.

If their faces don’t make you want to punch them, the voice and the way they walk will.

The clip, which has now been watched 81,000 times, sees the three boys, James, Martin B and Martin K give us the low down on 10 things to do on campus.

The video, presented by “English James” who actually only gives us eight activities – two of which are eating – was (in fairness) part of a competition for the business school to win £5,000.

And it adds to the growing body of evidence that Imperial isn’t just different to other unis, it is on a totally different planet.

The one-and-a-half minute film is a showcase of physics lesson humour and drab modernist architecture.

It’s got cash machines, cafes, stairs, a library and an elevator.

In true “zany” fashion, the boys thanked those who had supported them in the making of the video.

Martin K said: “I’d like to thank my birth father, Jesus Christ, for allowing me the strength to move on from my past sins.”

Martin B added: “I’d like to thank my parents for sending me overseas when I was 12. I had to fend for myself in London. They literally left me at King’s Cross, hogtied and with a brown paper back stuck over my head.”

James was just happy to have his voice heard: “It doesn’t matter. The masses have seen me. They know what we’re all about.”

They’re mad, they are.
