Armed robbery occurred outside UW-Madison residence hall

The alleged victim reported he was wrestled to the ground by two people

UW-Madison Police Department sent out a crime warning to students this morning, alerting them of a robbery that took place outside Elizabeth Waters Residence Hall.

According to police, the alleged victim knows as least one of the suspects. The victim claims he was wrestled to the ground by two people, who then stole his backpack and fled the scene.

The suspects are not currently believed to be affiliated with UW-Madison. Police are investigating the case, and anyone with information is urged to come forward.

Police ask the community to take preventative measures to protect themselves, such as walking in a group, being aware of the surroundings, and contacting the police in dangerous situations.
