BREAKING: Eboo Patel confirmed as 2016 Commencement speaker

In an email to seniors this morning, President Hatch confirmed Eboo Patel as the Commencement speaker for the class of 2016.

Patel is a leading voice for interfaith cooperation and founder of Interfaith Youth Core (IFYC), and he spoke at Wake Forest in 2012.

He has also written several books including, “Sacred Ground: Pluralism, Prejudice, and the Promise of America,” “Acts of Faith: The Story of an American Muslim, the Struggle for the Soul of a Generation,” and the forthcoming book “Interfaith Leadership.”

Patel also served as a member of President Barack Obama’s inaugural Advisory Council on Faith-Based Neighborhood Partnerships.

Joining Patel is Baccalaureate speaker The Reverend Dr. M. Craig Barnes, president and professor of pastoral ministry at Princeton Theological Seminary.

Commencement 2016 will be held on Monday, May 16.
