Former UVA student on trial for sexual assault and sodomy

His court date has just been delayed till March

The trial of former University of Virginia student, Adam Ott, 25, was delayed in the Charlottesville Circuit Court on November 22nd, as the court was unable to sit enough jurors.

Ott is scheduled to be on trial for two days on charges of sexual assault, specifically sodomy.

Police say it’s related to an alleged incident which occurred April 10th, 2015 in the 400-block of Brandon Avenue. Police say the alleged victim reported being sexually assaulted by Ott, and he was charged after an investigation.

His defense attorney, André A Hakes and prosecutor, Areshini Pather are working on setting up a new court date at a time at which witnesses to the assault would be available as well. A trial date in March is on the table so far.
