USG Senator introduces amendment to set all USG positions equal to minimum wage

The Senator has previously petitioned and advocated for tuition freezes

At Tuesday’s Undergraduate Student Government Senate meeting, Senator Kate Oh introduced an amendment to increase all USG job wages to meet the Los Angeles minimum wage, which is currently $10.50 per hour.

If the amendment passes, it would set the President’s wage at $10,000 per year; the Vice President’s at $8,000; the Chief of Staff, Treasurer, Senior Director of Programming, the Speaker Pro Tempore and the Senior Director of Communications all at $6,000; Advocacy Directors at $3,400; Communication Directors at $4,000; Communications Co-Directors at $2,750; Funding Board and Program Board Directors at $4,000; Program Board Co-Directors at $2,750; Associate Directors at $2,750 and Senators at $2,000.

USG will vote on the bylaw amendment during their meeting on Tuesday, Feb. 28.
