USG Senate votes against impeaching Commuter Senator Jacob Ellenhorn

The  USG Senate voted against the impeachment charges pressed against Senator Ellenhorn by Program Board Executive Director Diana Jimenez at a private trial at 9:30 p.m. on Wednesday night.

This ultimately exonerates Ellenhorn, but the Senate chose instead to punish him by taking away $250 of his $2,000 stipend.

In a press release, Ellenhorn committed to donating all $2,000 of his stipend to the Wounded Warriors Project, a plan he has publicly shared at the beginning of his term.

The $250 which was deducted from his stipend will now come from his own pocket.

This verdict marks the end of a trial met with widespread media coverage and divisiveness on-campus. The trial was largely symbolic, with Ellenhorn finishing under a month of his remaining term as a USG Senator. He then heads to the USC Gould School of Law in the fall.
