North Carolina lawmakers have proposed a bill that would remove UNC from the ACC

The new bill responds to the prior ACC boycott over HB2

In the never-ending saga that is North Carolina politics, a new house bill was introduced today that would force UNC out of the ACC if the ACC were to boycott North Carolina again.

The ACC boycotted North Carolina after the passing of H.B. 2. And they were in good company– many companies and public figures boycotted the state over the infamous ‘Bathroom Bill.’

The ‘Boycotts Bill’, named H.B. 728, was primarily sponsored by Republican representatives Jeff Collins, Mark Brody, Chris Millis, and Bert Jones.

Speaking to WFMY, representative Mark Brody said “We’re taking this seriously and we’re not going to sit back idly and let them do whatever they want to North Carolina.”
