Relax – the emergency evacuation email was a ‘false alarm’
It was mistakenly sent out to Coogs rather than Lone Star College
If you received a message about an emergency on campus last night, there’s nothing to worry about.
At around 8:30 PM tonight, a post was made on the UH Class of 2020 page saying that an emergency email was sent to students about a potential gas leak.
The email also stated that evacuation was necessary. At 9:37 PM another UH Community Alert was sent out saying that there wasn’t an emergency on campus and that the emergency was actually at the Lone Star College – University Park campus.
It also stated that the reason for it being sent to UH students was unknown.
