Trump supporters were there too

At 12pm today students gathered outside Davidson Library to rally against racism and student debt.

The rally comes after pro-Trump chalk appeared on campus.

The Million Student March hopes to “RECLAIM our campus after heinous, racist, sexist, Islamophobic, anti-semitic, homophobic, and transphobic chalk statements that have lead to an intensification of campsus climate.”


The march has now ended.

“Embarcaderon hall used to be Bank of America and was set on fire by students in 70s.”

They are telling the story of a student back then who was shot by police when trying to put out a fire. The anniversary of his shooting is in three days.

The March has stopped at the park on Pardall while still chanting “I’m fired up can’t take no more.”

He says they’re there for freedom of speech.

Students are asking for respect for freedom of speech while emphasizing that focus is not on politics at the moment but on our community.
