Freshman TJ Leaf announces he too will enter NBA draft

Leaf is the second UCLA freshman this year to declare for draft

Freshman TJ Leaf, power forward for UCLA, has just announced via Twitter that he will enter the 2017 NBA draft alongside fellow Bruin Lonzo Ball, thanking the Bruins for their support.

Leaf is considered to be a first round pick and is ranked anywhere between the 17th top player to the 28th top player.

Leaf averaged 16.3 points, 8.2 rebounds, and 1.1 blocks per game, proving he was an asset to the team.

“I’m sad that both of our 5 star freshmen are going into the draft because it’s more than likely that they’re leaving behind the team dynamic,” said fellow freshman Jessica Sanchez.

Though students expressed sorrow for Leaf’s departure, the Bruins thank Leaf for his contribution to UCLA’s successful 2016-2017 season and wish him luck in his future career.
