CAMP TU is coming to campus this week to destress students before finals

A zip line, petting zoo, movie, food trucks and so much more right at your finger tips

TU Student Activities have postponed CAMP TU to April 27th.

This Tuesday April 25th, students will have the chance to go ‘camping’ before the Tech Center becomes our homes during Finals week.

CAMP TU brought to you by Temple Student Activities will be set up throughout campus as a way for students to feel like they’re going back to camp and it will not disappoint.

This event will start at 7pm and end at 10pm, but you’ll probably want to attend this free event little earlier because of the amount of people that will attend.

Most of the events will be occurring at the Bell Tower and around Liacouras Walk and there will be a petting zoo with a cow, pig, chicken, an alpaca, sheep and more.

Yes that’s right, CAMP TU is bringing a touch of farmland to North Philadelphia.

On top of the petting zoo there will also be an adventure, music and sports section. The adventure section will include a rock wall and a zip line down 13th St.

At Columbia Park, commonly known as the Skate Park, student performers will be able to play their music throughout the night. If you’re feeling athletic, you will not be left out during CAMP TU since between the Skate Park and Ritter Hall, the sports section will have a mini golf, an obstacle course and a few inflatable sports games.

At the Bell Tower, students will be able to participate in paint night, which will take place right outside of the Paley Library. The signups are for 7:30pm and 9pm sessions and there will also be more arts and crafts, including flower crowns and friendship bracelets to make.

At 8pm, the movie Anchorman will be playing at the Bell Tower and there will be free popcorn for everyone to enjoy. If none of the above interests you then be sure to still head over for the food trucks that will be appearing for one night only!

There will be a total of seven food trucks here for CAMP TU, including Wahlburgers, Milk and Sugar, PB and Jams, Sum Pig, The Tot Cart, Baby Blues BBQ and Curbside Ice Cream. If you want to receive some free food from the trucks be sure to be outside the SAC in the beginning of the event where they will be handing out 140 vouchers per food truck and free t-shirts to the first few hundred students.

A social media contest will also be taking place, so be sure to take a picture with the #CAMPTU sign and you could win a Chipotle or Starbucks gift card.

There will so much to do that your mind will be completely relaxed and you’ll have a stress-free night from finals. So don’t miss out on CAMPTU on Tuesday night because who knows when the next time you’ll be able to zip line on campus or pet a cow in North Philadelphia.
