PSA Temple commuters: TSG considering cheaper SEPTA passes

This would include a $350 SEPTA Anywhere TrailPass for all zones of Regional Rail, buses, subways, and trolleys

Commuters and Temple students could rejoice with the Temple Student Government’s newest initiative for students to purchase a SEPTA Unlimited TrailPass (which includes all zones of regional rail, subway, buses, and trolley rides) for a much cheaper rate than the 10% discounted price offered currently by the Bursar’s office.

TSG is asking students to fill out a form if they want a cheaper SEPTA Unlimited TrailPass in order to find out how many students would consider paying the $350 anywhere pass (beginning fall through end of spring semester).

Signing your support does not mean you’re committing to buying anything, according to the email sent to all commuters from Jennifer K. Ibrahim, Associate Dean for Academic Affairs.

It’s just to gauge interest and the findings will be presented to administration to continue the ongoing conversation with SEPTA.

According to the form, TSG needs 11,000 sign-ups to move forward with the initiative and they are urging students to spread the word.

Amanda Loe, a commuter tells The Tab, a SEPTA pass like this would be helpful for all commuters at Temple University.

“As a commuter, I know something like this would help everyone out financially and it would be great to finally save money. I would rather drop bills on vacations than commuting for a change!”

However, students must know that this unlimited pass will only be valid during the academic year and winter break only (not the summer).

Email [email protected] if you have any questions or concerns. TSG is hoping to receive the 11,000 responses which is approximately 33% of the student body) by the end of this month.
