This new app could transform ‘Cuse nightlife

It will tell you if DJ’s is lit

Ever wondered if X frat or bar was popping, but was too lazy to go out and check for yourself (especially in the cold, windy, gross ‘Cuse weather)? ‘Cuse, you’re in luck. A new app coming to SU has got you covered.

Herd is a revolutionizing new mobile application that will save you a lot of effort, time, and money (because cover chargers SUCK). Basically, the app allows users to see what is going on around them. Using location services and simple data such as your age and gender, it is able to tell you how many people are planing on attending a given restaurant, bar, or house party. And the best part is? It’s all anonymous.

The app also allows users to see how many girls and guys are at that location– all in real time. In addition, the users are able to see how many girls and guys are at that location– all in real time. More in depth features allow users to anonymously comment on given locations (very similar to Yik Yak), and view the average age of the attendees in a particular hotspot.

Users have the option to select from three different tabs, each with different functions.  The ‘hottest’ menu is a feed of all the location around you with the most populated locations at the top. The nearby tab is the same feed, but filtered with the locations closest to you. The third and final tab is the heat map, which uses your phone’s location services (given they are turned on) and shows you a map where you can see all the locations around you and if they are heating (red) or cooling down (blue).

In the near future, the application will soon be developing more in-depth features that allow users to anonymously comment on given locations (think, like Yik Yak), and view the average age of the attendees in a particular hotspot.

For a party school as hot as ‘Cuse, going out and getting ~turnt~ will be easier than ever.
