WITR named one of the best college radio stations in America

The Pulse of Music

With its indie edge and over 100 member staff, WITR’s long lasting legacy of broadcasting the best of undiscovered and quirky music has Washington Post calling it one of the best college radio stations in the US.

WITR is among 51 other college radio stations shouted out by BestColleges.com in their 2016 Colleges with the Best Radio Stations list. The list was compiled based on online streaming capabilities, community involvement, and studio facilities. With it’s new Studio X, beautiful website, and consistent shows and events, it’s no wonder WITR made the list.

This station doesn’t just stop at indie music; you can catch a live stream of both men and women’s hockey games throughout the year, as well as special genre-based shows during the evening hours.

WITR’s Business Manager, Tim Plumadore, told The Tab this about their new accomplishment, “WITR isn’t just another radio station, it’s a part of RIT and Rochester culture. It’s the pulse of music, beating out right here in RIT.”
