The definitive Penn State 2017 bucket list
Just trying to make 2016 jealous
It’s no secret that we Penn State students are very passionate about our university. Unfortunately, no matter how hard we try, we can’t stay here forever. We only have four years to try and fit it all in, but where to start? Luckily for you, we put together a 2017 PSU bucket list to help you try to fit it all in.
Whether this is your last semester ever or you are finishing out your freshman year, here’s what you need to do with whatever time you have left.
Eat at every dining hall
Some award-winning cookies in West, top notch selection in South, A+ buffet style in Pollock, renovated dining in East and who could forget about North? It’s like Epcot, Penn State style.
Sit in the S-Zone for at least one football game
Channel your inner S as you sport those XXL shirts and try to get all four colors.
Camp out at Nittanyville
Who cares that you’re sleeping on pavement. Someone has to keep that school spirit on fire and the chiropractors in business.
Attend every sporting event at least once
Yes, this includes fencing – they need a killer student section too, right?
Go to every frat house
Peace be with you, because this will definitely be a test.
Stay for all 46 hours of THON
The determination and compassion Penn Staters have for THON is incredible. Be a part of this humbling experience, FTK!
Make the Dean’s list
Maybe easier said than done, but the satisfaction will no doubt be very rewarding.
Get on the PSU campus Snapchat story
Who runs that thing anyway?
Hike Mount Nittany
Nothing like a good Sunday morning hike. The view won’t be the only thing that takes your breath away though – start training because it’s a true cardiac journey.
Go sledding down Shortlidge during a snow storm
Shortlidge becomes a treacherous mountain in the winter…why not have some fun with it?
Embrace the tranquility of the Arboretum
Stressful day? Arboretum. Sunny day? Arboretum? Literally any day – Arboretum
Try every flavor of creamery ice cream (gradually)
Challenge accepted.
Eat Pokey Stix sober
Because walking from East to Pugh street sober is a feat in and of itself.
Get “tossed” during a football game
After every touchdown, typically girls are catapulted in the air for however many points we have scored so far. Seven points or 47, this tradition is a MUST.
Attend a daylong
Tip: don’t attend on an empty stomach.
Celebrate State Patty’s Day
As if Penn State wasn’t wild enough, State Patty’s Day is a staple event. The definition of a true daylong. You’ll forget all about St. Patrick’s day.
Overcome your low-key fear of the library
Be honest, we’ve all been there. If you or a loved one are struggling to cope with the size of the library, 2017 is the year to ditch that fear.
Eat a grilled sticky from The Diner
Aside from Penn State ice cream, grilled stickies may just be the next best thing.
Become DJ for a night at a frat
Spin some fire and get that place poppin’.
Go to Arts Fest
Arts Fest comes every year in July and is a signature event at Penn State, it’s like a reunion for all Penn Staters. No class – just vendors, performers and some cool beverages.
Tailgate all day for every football game
My corn hole team is better than yours.
There you have it. Take this bucket list and run with it. After all, did you really even go to Penn State if you haven’t done all of these things?
