Saquon Barkley wins Chicago Tribune Silver Football

What were you doing your sophomore year?

Big Ten’s Most Valuable Player, Saquon Barkley has yet another title to add to his collection. This Penn State sophomore earned the Chicago Tribune Silver Football.

This is a big deal for Barkley as it can premeditate if a player will win something like the Heisman Trophy which is one of the greatest honors for any football player according to the Chicago Tribune.

Big Ten coaches vote on the best player and they are not allowed to vote for anyone on their own team. Saquon Barkley and Ohio State’s J.T. Barrett both had the same number of first and second place votes, making them both winners of this award, according to the Chicago Tribune.

Barkley is the fourth Nittany Lion to win this award. The silver football will join Barkley’s other titles such as the 2016 George-Graham Big Ten Offensive Player of the Year and the 2016 Ameche-Dayne Big Ten Running Back of the Year.

With the addition of this title, Penn State fans have another reason to be excited for Barkley to play in the Rose Bowl.
Tune in on January 2nd at 5pm to see Saquon Barkley and the rest of the Nittany Lions take on the USC Trojans.

California we’re coming for you and we want our Rose Bowl.
