VIDEO: Hundreds of Penn students march in solidarity with Mizzou

The protest was staged today at 2.30pm by students from Penn, Temple, and Drexel

In lieu of events within the past weeks at Yale and Mizzou, students at Penn and Drexel, sponsored by Penn student group SOUL, organized a walkout and march throughout Philly.

SOUL’s official press release states that the protest was spurred by “the racist rejection of Black girls to a SAE party at Yale because they were not white and through the racist backlash that students at The University of Missouri are facing now.”

Several Penn students have posted the following on their Facebook timelines:

To the students of color at Mizzou and Yale: we, students at the University of Pennsylvania, stand with you in solidarity.

To those who would threaten their sense of safety, we are watching. ‪#‎ConcernedStudent1950‬#‎InSolidarityWithMizzou‬
