A definitive list of what every Oregon student should be thankful for

Helping you stay humble this Thanksgiving season, on or off campus

Thanksgiving season is upon us, and while it’s nice going home and eating a home cooked meal instead of Ramen noodles, the season’s about reflecting being grateful for everything you have. Us as Ducks have a lot to be thankful for, from free printing to endless food choices. No matter what, UO has our back.

Here’s a list of what UO students should be thankful for:

Free printing in Oregon Hall

Our lifesaver with last minute printing needs

Who doesn’t love anything that’s free!? Especially when you have a paper you need to turn in soon and you don’t have campus cash. Well, Oregon Hall has you covered with free printing up to 10 pages. Thank you, Oregon Hall!

Coffee shops all over – both on and near campus

COFFEE!!!!

Everyone knows that college kids need coffee. There are so many places to get coffee no matter where you are on or off campus! It’s a coffee lover’s dream! Thank you, coffee shops! We need you!

Free wifi on campus

Praise the free wifi

WiFi is a beautiful thing. All college students love it and need it; especially with how much is expected of us online. Thankfully, you can get free wifi from anywhere on campus! Granted, it’s not always the best, but that’s beside the point. The point is, we have one more thing to make us successful, and that is always something we should be grateful for.

Good restaurants in the EMU

Did someone say Chipotle?

UO knows its students. When the EMU was updated, they put Starbucks, Subway, Chipotle, and Panda Express and now is a duck’s go-to place for food! Way to go Oregon, you know us well! Thank you!

Knight and Law libraries are always open (and quiet)

Shhh!

With finals around the corner, we all need a good place to study. Knight and Law Libraries are always a good spot! You have to get there early for a good spot during finals week, but it is totally worth it! Thanks for a great escape!

Oregon Taxi

U of O students love Oregon Taxi!

Whether it’s to take drunk friends home only a couple blocks away or going across town to get to an interview, Oregon Taxi always has our backs. You can plan trips ahead of time or call to get an immediate pick up. The drivers are always nice, and put up with a lot more than we would be able to handle ourselves. For that alone, they deserve a huge “thank you” from all Oregon Students.

Amazing professors

Oregon professors can be amazing and very interesting people. In the science department, they are very easy to find. Biology 281H professor Mike Harms is just one example. He traveled to India for a week, got back on a Monday morning, and still went to class and lectured for 50 minutes after a full day of traveling and in the midst of jet lag. We have to love and be grateful to our fantastic professors who put so much work into helping us learn!

We stand together and support one another

Students rally together post-election

Through thick and thin, Oregon students come together to support one another. The “Not My President” peaceful protests on campus the week of the election were just one example of the many ways we all love one another. Simple acts of kindness go a long way, and Oregon shows a lot of them. We can all be thankful for knowing a whole university of students has our back.

You can find your people

Association for Women in Sports Media (AWSM) is just one of the many clubs where people can find others with the same passion

On campus, you are bound to find a group on campus that shares your interests, beliefs and perspectives. Yes, it can be a search, but it is totally worth it in the end! We are all so thankful to the amazing friends that surround us as well as U of O for bringing us together!

The Duck

Puddles, oh Puddles!

The Duck is there for us through every win and loss, always making it better. You can’t help but smile when The Duck is around. Every major event, tailgate, sporting event, you’ll see our amazing mascot and friend. We are always thankful for The Duck!

No matter what it is, Oregon students have a lot to be thankful for. Go forth and spread the love, Ducks!
