Breaking: Dogs no longer allowed on The Oval

Cats are still welcome

In a recent move Ohio State has decided to ban dogs from The Oval in a controversial move. As of now the rule applies to all types of dogs, even puppies.

The Tab Ohio State spoke to a few dog owners who will no longer be able to bring their fur babies to their favorite spot in Columbus.

Ryder the puppy will be one of the dogs unable to enjoy Oval beach in the upcoming weeks. “It makes me so sad that my furry companion can’t enjoy a puppuccino on his favorite patch of grass,” first-year Brianna Piergallini and fourth-year Brooke Piergallini told The Tab Ohio State.

The new rule will also apply to dogs belonging to Ohio State alumni.

“My sweet Bailey girl is going to miss having an open grass area to play fetch and run around. She will also miss making friends and giving kisses to everyone who gives her attention,” said Jillian Heinonen, a recent graduate of Ohio State.

No breed is safe, even golden retrievers will be banned from The Oval.

According to owner Danielle Good a fourth-year at Ohio State, her dog Obie says “First Mirror Lake and now The Oval. Where am I supposed to play?”

As of now it seems Oval beach at Ohio State will no longer be the same. Dogs will be forced to frolic in other parks around Columbus.

Pet lovers will now be forced to bring cats to The Oval instead.
