Raekwon McMillan declares for the NFL draft

Ohio State has lost another key defensive player to the NFL

Captain and starting linebacker for Ohio State’s football team, Raekwon McMillan, has announced his intention to forgo his senior season and enter the 2017 NFL draft. McMillan is projected to be a first round draft pick according to various mock drafts.

Here is McMillan’s official statement:

Surely the Silver Bullets will miss McMillan’s presence in the middle. In 2016, McMillan earned Big Ten First Team Honors as well as Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week after recording 16 tackles in a double overtime victory against Michigan.

McMillan has been a key contributor to the success of Ohio State over the past three seasons. During his freshman year, McMillan was a key contributor on a defense that helped win the 2014 National Championship. As a sophomore, McMillan continued to prove himself as a full time starter recording 119 tackles on the season along with 1.5 sacks.

Losing McMillan will be a tough blow for Ohio State, especially considering the team is also going to be without Malik Hooker in the 2017 season.

The Tab wishes number five the best as he starts his NFL career!
