A guide to the best and worst NYU bathrooms

You know, the cockroach-ridden rooms that you’re paying 70k a year to use

Let’s face it, some NYU bathrooms are great. Others are shit. From the catacombs of Bobst to the halls of Stern, it is important to know where your tuition is going, which I can assure you is not to the renovation of bathrooms across campus. Behold, here is a ranking from worst to best of the bathrooms at NYU. You’re welcome.

BEST

20 Cooper Square

20 Cooper Square – also known as the Journalism and SCA building – has pretty decent bathrooms. They are usually clean and fully decked-out in silver. They are probably kept nice because the building is for both grad and undergraduate students, and is frequented by lots of visitors and guest speakers. Overall: one of the better ones.

Meyer Hall

For a building that few many students will actually go into during their time at NYU, Meyer Hall’s bathrooms are quite decent. Besides the design accents, the stalls are roomy and the overall bathroom is clean. Definitely one of the nicest on campus.

 GCASL

GCASL also has some of the loveliest bathrooms on campus. Why go to subpar Kimmel when you can feel like you are sitting on a throne at GCASL? The wood is a nice touch and the lighting is terrific for selfies. The only downside, it often smells.

Kaufman Management Center (Stern)

Would anyone expect any less from Stern? If the WiFi is separate, the bathrooms must naturally must be nice, and yes, they are some of the best on campus. Just look at those fancy sinks!

Waverly Building

If you have class in Silver, take the extra 5 steps to Waverly to pee. This bathroom is newly tiled and has marble accents, and is always spotless. If only all bathrooms at NYU could resemble this one.

Honorable mentions for other best: 239 Greene St, ARC, Steinhardt Education Building. Onto the worst!

WORST

NYU Silver Center (College of Arts and Sciences)

The Silver bathrooms feel like a creepy prison, with low-grade cleanliness that isn’t ideal.  One positive is that it’s pretty fun to read all the graffiti in the stalls, but besides that this place earns the title of worst bathroom at NYU. I also read an NYU secret that a cockroach popped out of the toilet while someone was using it. You’ve been warned.

Bobst 5W (and majority of bathrooms in Bobst)

Oh the Bobst 5W bathroom, or lack thereof. Besides there only being 2 stalls, it’s hardly ever cleaned and always has a lingering scent. For such a popular spot, it could use an upgrade. Also, all bathrooms in Bobst, especially this one, get putrid during midterms and finals so HEADS UP.

Kimmel

Overall these bathrooms are O.K., they are functional and clean enough. Nothing horrible or amazing, though. Peep me in the full length mirror.

194 Mercer

Although Mercer isn’t aesthetically terrible, it still manages to fall as one of the worst bathrooms at NYU. The space is pretty narrow, and 194 mercer is already one of my least favorite buildings so in my opinion, this only makes it worst.
