Madonna held a surprise gig in WSP encouraging people to vote

‘Do we want Donald Trump as our president? No!’

Madonna held a spontaneous concert in Washington Square Park on Monday night, the evening before the results of the 2016 presidential election, to encourage New Yorkers to get out and vote.

Standing right in the middle of the Washington Square Park fountain, she performed both her hits and covers, in between chanting out to the crowd – “Do we want Donald Trump to be President?” which received a rousing ‘NO!” in response. “Do we want Hillary as President?” received a slightly less enthusiastic “YES!”

In Madonna like fashion, it didn’t seem like she had run anything by any official in the park because the NYPD were walking around, asking quite how Madonna had ended up in the middle of the fountain.
