NYU administration has now threatened to suspend the protesters in Bobst

They have until 5pm to leave

Update, 6.39pm: As requested by the administration, the group exited the building before 5pm. It settled for the promise to speak before the Investment Committee at the June board meeting.

Outside, protesters gathered for one last chant, addressing not only the original issues but also calling the administration out on using threats of suspension instead of attempting to negotiate.

Though today’s events are over, NYU Divest vows to continue to fight until divestment occurs.

The NYU administration has threatened immediate suspension for the 18 students who stayed overnight and any students who are in and around the elevator after 5pm today.

The protesters continue to press for their original demands, but the administration has explicitly stated it will not negotiate at this point.

Members of the administration are standing by their original offer allowing NYU Divest to meet with the Investment Committee before the June board meeting, but still without promise of an exact date.

More to follow.
