VOTE: The ultimate title as Florida State’s best bar

It’s March Madness Tallahassee style

March Madness is right around the corner, and FSU basketball has given us a season for the books. With the anticipation of creating brackets with our team going all the way, we’ve decided to create our own competition here at Florida State.

We gathered the 16 most popular and beloved bars among FSU students and given them head to head match-ups, to compete for the opportunity to be crowned The Best Bar at Florida State. Fill out your bracket each week to see if your bar goes all the way. Winner of our Best Bar in Tallahassee competition gets a custom trophy and bragging rights.

Fill out your brackets and vote for your favorite bar. Voting for this round ends Sunday, February 26th at 5 pm.

Madison Social vs The Brass Tap

Madison Social: MadSo is a beloved Happy Hour, trivia, brunch and gameday spot of Florida State students. Located on Madison St, Madison Social the perfect place to walk from the game and back on a Saturday in the fall.

The Brass Tap: One of the first places Florida State students hit when they turn 21, The Brass Tap is the perfect place to take your parents when they come to town and your friends for drinks on a Friday night.

Bullwinkles vs Ken’s Tavern

Ken’s Tavern: Ken’s Tavern is where your parents drank when they went to Florida State, and where you drink when you want a chill night out with friends. Located in on Tennessee St, Ken’s is a spot you always hit on your laps around The Strip.

Bullwinkle’s: The only thing stopping Bullwinkle’s from being the perfect Florida State late night hangout is it’s lack of a mechanical bull. You can pay $75 for a membership and drink free the entire semester. It’s the perfect Friday night place to be.

Rokbar vs Clydes & Costello’s

Clyde’s: Known for the infamous Monday’s and Happy Hours, Clyde’s is always here for us- open every day of the week except Sunday, from 4:30 pm to 2:00 am.

Rokbar: Rokbar is one of the few FSU options to go dancing around FSU. Open Monday, Friday and Saturday, Rokbar is an FSU staple for cheap drinks and a club atmosphere.

The Palace vs Coliseum

The Palace: The Palace is an FSU dive bar we’ve all come to know and love. Nestled between Doak and Banditos Burritos, it’s open every day of the week from 3 pm to 2 am.

Coliseum: One of the first places Florida State students go to, Coliseum is a staple throughout FSU students college experience.

Tabu vs The Standard

Tabu: If you’re looking for a place to dance and relive your freshman (and even senior) glory days, Tabu is the place to be.

The Standard: The ultimate location for Waltz’s, date functions, and everything in between, The Standard is open Thursday and Saturday until 2 am, and Friday’s for Happy Hour.

Pots vs Poor Paul’s

Poor Paul’s: When you want to get away from the insanity that is The Strip, Poor Paul’s is conveniently located a few doors down. If you head there on a Sunday or Monday, you’ll also get a free slice of pizza with your drink.

Potbelly’s: From Purgatory to Happy Hour, Pots has engraved itself as being one of the most beloved places at Florida State. From Pitchers and lunch boxes to y bombs, you’ll get the most bang for your buck at Potbelly’s.

Tenn vs Room 215

Tenn: While it’s only open on Fridays, Tenn is available for rentals every other day of the week. They offer $1 drinks and shots until 11 pm and it’s conveniently located within The Strip.

Room 215: Like Township, Room 215 is new to the Tally social scene and quickly becoming one of the coolest places to be. It’s a lounge, bar and nightclub, with a vibe for just about anyone.

Township vs Recess

Recess: Recess has made a name for itself being the place to be on a Tuesday night in Tallahassee. It’s located on Madison St above MadSo, and has an outdoor club and rooftop pool for when the 2 months of Florida’s winter are over.

Township: Though new, Township has already grown quite fondly in the hearts of Tallahassee. It’s located on Madison St across from MadSo and the IM fields.
