The Hobbit American Grill temporarily closed for health violations

They’ve reopened with new branding

On Tuesday, January 3rd, restaurant The Hobbit American Grill was temporarily shut down due to over 30 health code violations. Amongst the worst of these health code violations, reported by the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation, were multiple accounts of both alive and dead roaches being found throughout the kitchen, along with an accumulation of mold in the ice machines.

As a beloved late night Florida State spot, FSU students are beyond mortified by all of the health code violations. According to the restaurant’s twitter account. “@TheHobbitTally”, the restaurant is only temporarily shut down due to, “an emergency plumbing issue”.

Though the restaurant has reopened, after reading the list of health code violations, we can imagine a few of it’s customers won’t be eating there ever again.
