All exams in the University Testing Center were pushed back two hours

As if finals weren’t already bad enough

Consider yourself lucky if you didn’t have to take a final at the Testing Center today. Hundreds of students were forced to wait in a line over two hours long to take their finals. Due to the long line, the university  pushed back all exams by two hours and is keeping the Testing Center open until everyone in line has taken their exam.

Shannon Reynolds, a sophomore nursing major spoke with The Tab and told us about her experience at the testing center. “It took me an hour and a half to take my exam. It was scheduled for 12:30, but I didn’t actually start until 1:45. Can someone please tell me why the testing center schedules exams in 30 minute intervals when they are fully aware that a final exam lasts for a two hour block? They know how many computers they have and how many students they can accommodate. Why would they purposefully and knowingly overbook by such a large margin?”

Erin Gillespie, a junior studying Environment and Society said “I was waiting in line for an hour and a half and was half an hour late for my exam. I kept worrying if I was going to be able to take my test even though the line is so long. The line wouldn’t of been as bad if they had better snacks in the vending machines, though.”

Natalie-Kate Bravo, a junior majoring in Marketing said, “I was in line for about an hour and forty minutes. My test started at 1:30 but I wasn’t seated until 3ish. From afar, I initially thought the line was a long line for the bus stop, but as I got closer I realized everyone was studying and that it was for the Testing Center. It was my first time taking finals at the Testing Center and I was shocked that the line was so long. I feel like they should designate certain lines for certain testing times, so things are more organized.”
