What are you doing on Valentine’s Day?

‘My parents knew I’d be single and lonely for Valentine’s Day yet again, so they’re buying me dinner’

Valentine’s Day is notoriously one of the most polarizing holidays of the year –  some people love it, most people hate it. But after asking fellow BC students about their plans this Valentine’s Day, it appears that even if they don’t have actual dates, they won’t be alone in their rooms.

Whether you’re going on an extravagant date in the city or eating Nutella straight from the jar,  you’re not alone.

For starters, some people are actually in relationships.

Elizabeth Banks, Sophomore, English

She and her boyfriend “are going to Shake Shack for Valentine’s Day.” Luckily for them, on Valentine’s Day, Shake Shack offers the policy that if you bring a date you get a free shake. Not a bad deal.

Marc Capogna, Junior, Biology

“Cooking Valentine’s Day dinner for [his] girlfriend because it is cold outside.”

So romantic and thoughtful.

Connor Strachan, Sophomore, Finance

He “is going out to a restaurant with his girlfriend and then going to Max Brenner’s for fondue.” How sweet.

Scotty Savage, Junior, Psych

“Going to Disney on ice with his girlfriend and going to an Italian restaurant after.”

Sophia Breggia, Junior, English

“Getting sushi with [her] boyfriend and going to the MFA.”

Sami Gan, Junior, Econ

And absolutely killing the couple game,  Sami is “spending her Valentine’s Day in Canada with her sister and their boyfriends skiing on the Snow Jam mountain!”

If you find yourself dateless this Valentine’s day, the next best thing is a date with your parents.

Shea North, Sophomore, Nursing

“My parents knew I’d be single and lonely for Valentine’s Day yet again, so they’re buying me dinner.”

Karina Mann, Junior, Math

“I’m going on a date with my parents.”

And if your parents are too far to make it then one thing that BC has taught us is to keep it platonic.

Gabe McClary, Sophomore, English

“Going out to a restaurant with all of [his] friends that do not have girlfriends.”

Katerina Ivanov, Junior, English

“Going to WOM formal with [her] platonic friend.”

If that doesn’t work you can always keep yourself busy like these students.

Kevin Flynn, Junior, Finance

He’s planning on “mowing the lawn.” Could be hard with the snow, but we wish him good luck.

Mike Tracy, Junior, Psych

“Drinking.”

Tom Olson, Junior, Accounting

He’s “looking for plans, ladies.”

Marquis Little, Junior, Psych

And if all else fails you can always do what Marquis is doing, which is “nothing.”
