Do you want Milo Yiannopoulos to speak at Auburn?

He’s coming to Foy Auditorium Oct 7

Milo Yiannopoulos will be speaking at Auburn University on October 7, at 7pm, in the Foy Auditorium. This will be a part of his“Dangerous Faggots” tour. Milo Yiannopoulos is the conservative writer for the news site Breitbart who was recently banned from Twitter for sending harassing tweets to Leslie Jones. He’s been accused of being sexist, racist and misogynistic among other things making him a controversial speaker.

Auburn students have differing opinions on this event. Jake Longenecker, a senior, said he believes it is “important & necessary to have differing voices speaking on campus, even if the speaker is a huge POS.” While SueAnne Griffith, also a senior, said, “there’s a difference between inviting speakers with controversial views and inviting speakers who say hateful things.”

Last year, the Princeton Review ranked Auburn University as the 7th most conservative college in the country. With this in mind, Yiannopoulos will most likely have a large crowd. Many students are going as fans, but others have said they will go simply to see what crazy things he will say.

With such a controversial speaker coming to our school, we would like to know what you think. Do you think Milo Yiannopoulos should speak at Auburn? Let us know in the poll below!
