Huge storm takes out power next to ASU campus

It’s back after being down for about an hour

An enormous storm has hit ASU leading to a power outage in Tempe, just east of campus.

The power cut was the result of a power line next to Vertex being totally taken out by a huge gust of wind.

Having seen it first hand from my balcony, our room mates and I thought it was lightening, however it was the two blinding white explosions that both simultaneously erupted that gave it away. University Pointe, Dutch Bros, Circle K, McDonalds, Taco Bell, Vista Villas and many student homes were allegedly plunged into darkness.

The power was out for about an hour and has now come back on.

ASU are yet to release a statement.
