There were allegedly ‘multiple reports of armed and knife wielding clowns’ on campus last night

Posada San Pedro was evacuated

UPDATE: The UA alert below is believed to be a hoax

Last night at around 12:30 am a false UAlert was sent to students residing in Coronado dorms and Luna apartments just off campus across from Manzanita-Mohave dorms advising students to stay inside and lock their doors.

The alleged clown sightings occurred in the neighborhoods of Coronado and highland. Some individuals have taken it upon themselves to go “clown hunting”, searching for these perpetrators around the campus.

Others seem to be treating the whole situation as a joke. Students in my dorm, Manzanita Mojave, convened in my hallway at around 1AM waking me up with their loud screaming about the fact that clowns were in and around the building. The majority of the student population seems to be in hysterics around the issue of these strangely dressed perpetrators.

Aside from the chaos occurring on the University of Arizona campus, reported sightings of these individuals dressed as clowns is becoming more and more common at colleges across the nation, along with reports of violence committed by these clowns. People have been arrested just for dressing up in this way in other states which shows how serious a threat law enforcement across the nation has deemed this outbreak to be.

So is this just a prank taken way too far, or are these clown sightings actually pursuant to dangerous violent criminals just getting into the Halloween spirit?
