There’s a special place in Hell for the kind of girls who post photos where they know they look hotter than their friend

So it’s since been deleted from Instagram, but does everyone remember that one time Taylor Swift posted this photo for her “best friend’s” birthday, and it read: “Some of my best memories have been with this girl, laughing in the kitchen. Happy Birthday to the ray of light that is @karliekloss”

But it was really just a photo of her then boyfriend Calvin Harris.

I feel like the newest equivalent to this is the girl who Facetunes herself in a pic but doesn’t Facetune her friend.

Or posts a picture of herself where she clearly looks better than that friend. She knows it, the friend knows it, every single person who has seen it on their feed knows it, but nobody ever calls them out for it.

And a lot of times we get it. You just broke up with someone, want to look good on Insta, and so even though our eyes are going in different directions in the photo, you decide to lighten it so your face looks all glow-y and bright, and post it anyway.

You know I literally look like Ed Sheeran in this picture, but you’re my friend and I want you to feel good about yourself on social media. But sometimes — just one time goddamnit — I want you to ask me if I prefer the C1 or G3 filter on VSCO Cam. (It’s C1, I prefer C1.)

I, too, have enemies who likely follow you — my best friend — on social media. So would you please do me the solid of opting for the photo I look even second worst in? I’m desperate at this point.
