Your definitive guide to dressing patriotically for the Fourth of July

‘History began on July 4, 1776. Everything before that was a mistake’ – Ron Swanson

In the wise words of Ron Swanson, July 4th is when everything and anything started. Our freedom as a country and our rise as one of the most powerful ones in the world began on that fateful summer day, and we’ll never forget it. Us Americans cherish many things, including beer, fried foods, the NFL, hot dogs, chanting “USA”, and also our many freedoms. We love our country every single day, but there’s one day out of the year where we can celebrate in our very own American over the top way, and that is the Fourth of July.

We choose to celebrate this momentous holiday by barbecuing, drinking cheap beer and setting off explosives. But what does one wear to honor the world’s greatest country? How can we possibly pay tribute to this piece of land we are so lucky to call home? Well, with a little bit of my help and some pics for some inspo, you’ll know how.

If you’re headed to a barbecue

Going to a barbecue with a pool? Make sure to wear cute red, white or blue (or a mix of all three) bathing suits to keep it festive. Don’t forget your beads or your American flag bandanas to keep it casual and extra festive.

Transitioning to a night event

Ditch the beads and bandanas for a night time party look. There’s absolutely nothing that yells “America” more than white pants, am I right?

Keep the white theme going with not only pants, but a white dress. Add a bandana and beads as a bracelet to add more American color!

To go all out

Love the U.S more than the average citizen? Wear an entire top that’s devoted to our sacred flag!
