The Warwick Summer Festival is back

Previous performers include Chase and Status

Event organiser David Ramsay announced that the Warwick Summer Festival will be back this year.

After announcing the event on his Facebook profile, he told The Tab:

“When I was a student at Warwick I had the opportunity to see some great acts up close, and I want to give current students the same opportunity! So many students have been asking for this, and after a year of planning, we’re really glad to be able to provide it.”

He also told us that some big-name artists and DJs will be announced over the next few weeks.

The last one occurred during the summer of 2013, featuring top acts including: Chase and Status, Labrinth and Bombay Bicycle Club.

The re-launch of the Summer Festival will enable students to have a well deserved break after what for most will have been a stressful year. Apparently students can expect “sunshine, huge artists, great food, a fairground and of course, alcohol.”

The 2017 Warwick Summer Festival will not be held on Warwick’s campus, as it has moved to a new venue in the centre of Coventry.

The event will be held at Coventry Cathedral Ruins, which the organisers describe as a “stunning outdoor space perfect for our Summer Festival!”.

The date has been set for Saturday 17th June, from 16:30pm-2:00am.

Tickets are yet to go on sale, but they will include transport to and from the event.
