Thekla is hosting an alternative freshers fair at the end of the month

Probably the only nightclub in Bristol which is also a boat

Bristol’s an incredible city, a place where you can expect to have the time of your life, with brilliant music and culture scenes to keep you going.

The only problem is that your average fresher’s fair just doesn’t cover this, preferring to show off hideous superclubs and rope you into societies that you will never attend. This is where Thekla, a nightclub on a boat and winner of several awards, has come to the rescue.

On Sunday the 27th of September Thekla will be boarded by over 500 students for its Alternative Fresher’s Fair, an event showcasing local businesses and DJs, supported by Bristol’s best street food vendors with plenty of giveaways of alcohol, Uber vouchers and other goodies.

It’s free to any University of Bristol or UWE student with a valid NUS card and there will be loads of people there, so try and arrive before the two pm opening to beat the queues. There are also six Thekla prize bags to be won, containing a multitude of great things, like Tab t-shirts, stickers and most importantly VIP tickets to every single Thekla event this year. That’s a lot of tickets.

As you may have realised, this event is Bristol in a nutshell, showing off the things we do that no other city can match. It’s a must for any student – fresher or not – who wants to experience a bit more of their city.

Sunday the 27th of September, 2pm at Thekla. See you there.
