Sophie LindsayA Trent final year law student, Vicky Marriott, is 21 and competing in the final of Miss Genting Derby 2017.
Vicky competed in the Miss England Competition last summer after coming second in Miss Nottingham and made it to the semi finals.
For the heat, Vicky will be up against other contestants raising money for Treetops Hospice, creating an eco dress out of recycled or charity shop brought items, performing a talent and wear an evening gown.
The winner will be expected to not only display poise, grace and beauty, but also show a charitable side and beauty is judged both inside and out. She is hoping to go that one step further and take the crown if Miss Genting Derby to compete in the Final of Miss England held in Birmingham in summer 2017.
