Sussex campus residences left without water following pressure issue

More water problems for Sussex

Residences on campus were left without water following repair work at the university. Students living in accommodation such as East Slope and Brighthelm found themselves affected yesterday, with issues continuing to be reported this morning.

Ana, an East Slope resident, said her water remains: “really on and off, and has really bad pressure”.

Furthermore, Polly, living in Lancaster, described her morning shower as: “freezing cold.”

The shut-off was a result of previous water pressure issue, which Sussex Estates and Services claim to have been resolved.

An Sussex Estates and Facilities (SEF) spokesperson said: “Unfortunately the campus did suffer from some water pressure issues yesterday, resulting in the water having to be turned off in some of the residential buildings.”

Despite students continuing to endure cold and inconsistent showers, SEF believe that the issue is now solved: “Luckily this issue has now been resolved and the water should be back to its usual state.”

Students are urged to contact SEF should they still suffer with water problems.
