Nazi stickers found on Sussex campus

The Students’ Union has condemned the culprits

The Students’ Union has reported that several stickers featuring Nazi imagery were found on campus today.

The stickers were located on a notice board at Falmer House, by the staircase near the Union Shop.

The SU have said they “condemn this action in the strongest terms”, and have reiterated expectations of respect and equality on campus. The imagery has been described as a “hate incident” by the university.

Sussex Students’ Union released a statement on the incident saying: “The Students’ Union firmly condemn anti semitism and any form of discrimination.

“We would like to reaffirm the Students’ Union’s commitment to do to everything in our power to make Sussex students feel welcome and safe in Students’ Union led activities.

“The stickers were removed this morning, Sussex Estate and Facilities and Campus Security services were contacted to investigate on the matter.”

Next Wednesday, Sussex University will be marking Holocaust Memorial Day. They added: “Incidents like this show the need to remain vigilant and oppose anti-Semitism and discrimination.”
