Stirling moves up seven places in Guardian university rankings

Moving up in the world

The Guardian has released their 2017 rankings of UK universities, and Stirling has moved up seven places, from 65th place to 58th.

The universities were ranked according to various criteria, including student satisfaction and how much universities are spending per student.

This means we beat Edinburgh Napier, Glasgow Caledonian and of course Abertay in Dundee.

The Guardian’s league tables rank universities according to: spending per student; the student/staff ratio; graduate career prospects; what grades applicants need to get a place.

They also factor in a value-added score that compares students’ entry qualifications with their final degree results, and how satisfied final-year students are with their courses, based on results from the annual National Student Survey (NSS). Specialist tables also rank universities by subject area.
