A major investigation has been launched after a man was detained and charged in connection with the attack and also two other assaults on two 21-year-old men.

Police were called to Cornton at around 11.55pm on Tuesday night after concerned was raised for the wellbeing of a woman.

The attack is understood by police to have taken place between 11.20pm and 11.50pm.

Politics student Lorna said, “after hearing about this I would think twice about walking home from a night out, especially as those tunnels under the roundabout at Union Street are very dark and dodgy. I think I’ll just spend the extra 8 pound next time and get a taxi.”
