Scottish craft brewers BrewDog to launch in Stirling

Will it be as good as Cape though?

The co-founder of Scottish beer company BrewDog has revealed plans to open a new Stirling branch.

The edgy craft beer specialists remain tight-lipped over where the new bar will be, but are expected to set up shop in the town centre, possibly on Friars Street.

It is understood the mystery new location was chosen after the self-proclaimed “beer punks” asked Shareholders to look into potential sites in Stirling earlier this year.

Recently the company’s co-founder James Watt tweeted.

Just hours later BrewDog officially announced the plans on their feed, saying: “People of Stirling, we’ve got some awesome news for you!”

Recently a spokesperson for the company said they have targeted a site but are not yet at a stage where they can confirm the location.

BrewDog are renowned for their experimental beers

Since starting up in Scotland in 2007, BrewDog has now expanded internationally with bars across the UK, Europe and the US.

But the revelation of a new bar in Stirling suggests the chic beer brand are looking to return close to their roots and compete in one of Scotland’s most competitive bar scenes.

Ale connoisseur Steven Jones said: ” My plan for a pan-Scotland BrewDog bar crawl just got a little more complicated, in a good way though.”

BrewDog are famed for their experimental, sometimes wacky, craft beers and flamboyant marketing, with flavours including Dead Pony Club and Vagabond Pale Ale.

The Scottish start-up are a well known beneficiary of crowdfunding websites, and have used it to help fund their global expansion since opening their first bar in Aberdeen back in 2010. They now have bars in Glasgow, London, Barcelona, Sao Paolo and Bologna.

The new bar will be a welcome addition to Stirling’s already great bar scene

The edgy brewers have begun advertising for a manager for the new Stirling bar.

The advert says: “Ever since the first Brewdog bar opened back in 2010 we have relied on them as a crucial part of our mission to make other people as passionate about great craft beer as we are.

“Our soon-to-be Stirling bar will be a key piece of the puzzle.”
