St Andrews is one of the top UK unis for student Sugar Babies

They’ve got bills they gotta pay

According to recent reports, St Andrews’ population includes the UK’s fifth highest number of student Sugar Babies.

Around 533 St Andrews students have signed up to the online and app-based agency Seeking Arrangement, which pairs wealthy men (and women) with younger, “attractive” people looking for a taste of luxury.

According to a report by BBC Newsbeat, 165 of these are new Sugar Babies who have joined in the last year.

The site allows Sugar Daddies/Mommas and Babies to set up an arrangement, where both parties can “be direct with one another and stop wasting time”. Members explicitly state the terms of their relationship on their profile. According to Seeking Arrangement, these terms may include mentorship, financial support or companionship, in the form of exotic trips, gifts or even intimate encounters.

Sugar Babies who sign up with university email addresses are given free membership, and according to a Sky News report, around 50% of Seeking Arrangement members are students.

However, these figures are based on the number of email addresses registered on the website, there are no stats to say how many St Andrews Sugar Baby accounts are active.
