Police seeking information about sexual assault

Come to the rescue.


Police are seeking witnesses and information regarding a sexual assault that happened in the North Haugh near the Gateway building at 5:40 pm on Thursday 28th November.

The incident involved a man who assaulted an 18-year-old female near Agnes Blackadder Halls. A statement issued by the University’s Director of Corporate Communications Niall Scott said the man was, “Tall [with a] muscular build [and] wearing dark clothing. He spoke with a foreign accent.”

The statement continued, “Anyone who was in the area at the time or who have information about the incident is asked to contact Police Scotland on telephone number 101 or anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111. Students are reminded to be extra vigilant when out during the hours of darkness and to report any suspicious activity to The Warden at their accommodation or to Student Services.”
