Natalie AminoffIn the summer of 2015, Shiyi Ying (Ian) proposed to his girlfriend Yu-Yen-Ou (Chloe) at their graduation ceremony, breaking records and becoming Southampton’s first graduation ceremony marriage proposal ever. Not only did he propose at the university, but also said following his proposal that “the University of Southampton is a magical place!”
Just over a year on, the couple celebrated their wedding not once but twice, holding one ceremony in Tianjin, China and a second in Taipei, Taiwan.
University of Southampton offered their sincere congratulations and best wishes for their future life together, on behalf of the International Office, the Southampton Business School and wider Alumni community.
