This second year has made a sick collection of caps for Varsity

Is Varsity even going to be any fun without one of these on your head?

Meet the man of the moment David Appiah, who made his own sick collection of hats for Varsity. Taking Varsity headwear to a whole new level, David has created a faux suede cap collection with a front logo ‘paying homage to one of the University of Sheffield’s most iconic features’ – the Arts Tower.

Who doesn’t want to walk round Sheffield with the Arts Tower on their head? And let’s be honest the Sheffield Varsity bobble hat probably wasn’t doing us any favours. Get this guy on the apprentice.

Hats off to David

There are 45 caps on general sale on his website now, so The Tab caught up with David to find out a bit more about his collection:

‘We’re an online youth retailer of casual headwear/clothing brand and we’re releasing a collection of caps for uni of, for varsity. The collection is named ‘The One4teeN Collection: Season 1’ with the tagline being ‘For uni of, by uni of…’

‘For Uni of, by Uni of’. Simple, catchy, effective. Wonder where this guy went to Uni?

‘The One4teen Collection’ as a whole is a multi-part collection celebrating the city of Sheffield. Its name is a reference to the ‘114’ in the city’s dial tone ‘0114’. But with it being one of the best times of year at uni again, with Varsity getting into full swing, ‘Season 1′ is all about us wanting everyone to back the uni and show their colours as we look for another varsity win.’

To celebrate the launch he’s running two competitions, one for a chance to win two Varsity final ROAR tickets and one to win a free bottle of vodka. And who doesn’t like free stuff? This guy’s a genius.

Anyone who purchases any product from his site between now and Tuesday 28th March, 11PM will be entered into a competition to win 2 Varsity ROAR finals tickets. And for your chance to win a free bottle of vodka simply like his Facebook page @capsfordapps and share his post. Turning down free alcohol? Nah, I didn’t think so either.

Chanting at Hallam students at the ice hockey just won’t be the same without one of these on your head.
