Oxford is the fourth best uni in the world

What else is new?

According to a new list by the Centre for World University Rankings,  Oxford is the fourth best uni on the planet. Beaten only by Harvard, Stanford, MIT and Cambridge, Oxford sits pretty at the top of a 25,000 strong table of degree awarding institutions.

The ranking takes into account the usual list of factors including quality of teaching, alumni employment and academic citations as well as a score for “broad impact”

Unsurprisingly, this puts us ahead of Southampton, Leeds, Sheffield and pretty much every other uni in the world. Meanwhile, across town Brookes didn’t even make the top 1000.

Earlier this year, QS ranked Oxford as the best place to study arts and humanities in the world, pipping Cambridge to the top spot.
