Two people were hit by a bus outside Victoria Centre this morning

Three ambulances and three police cars were at the scene

Two pedestrians are being treated for injuries after they were hit by a bus outside the Victoria Centre.

Three ambulances and three police cars were on the scene in Lower Parliament Street within five minutes after being called to the incident at 11.05am.

Witnesses describe hearing a loud bang and seeing two people lying on the floor. It is believed that they were a woman, suffering from minor injuries, and an elderly man, who suffered a serious head injury. They were treated at the scene and have now been taken to hospital.

Police officers are still at the scene and the number 39 Nottingham City Transport bus at the centre of the incident has been cordoned off. Lower Parliament Street remains closed but buses from uni to town are running as normal.

A Nottinghamshire Policeman at the scene told The Tab: “Two people have been involved in an incident with a bus. We can’t say anymore at this point but there will be updates from our media team.”

This comes after a man was hit by a tram in the city centre on Friday.
