Tab poll results: Over a third of UEA back Labour while Lib Dems are beaten by UKIP

Don’t think Clegg’s been forgiven yet

Labour are the most popular party with UEA voters in tomorrow’s election, according to a Tab poll.

37 per cent of students told The Tab they plan to vote for Labour in the hope of lifting Red Ed into power, while only 27 per cent will be backing the Tories.

Labour candidate Clive Lewis has pledged to cut bus and rail fares in Norwich, as well as increase local authority control over landlords giving students an unfair deal.

The Green Party were the third most popular party with UEA students, receiving backing from 18 per cent of you.

At the other end of the polls, it was terrible news for oath-breaker Nick Clegg and his merry band of Liberal Democrats who received less votes than UKIP. Five per cent of you think Nigel Farage’s anti-EU party are the right match for you.

Only four per cent of students said they had no intention to vote, while five per cent said they were still to make up their mind.

The results reflect the likelihood the Norwich South seat will change hands from the Liberal Democrats to the Labour party tomorrow, one of 39 seats the Electoral Calculus predicts the Lib Dems will lose in this election.

In the last election, the Liberal Democrats pipped Labour to the seat by only 310 votes but a decline in popularity among students means it’s unlikely Simon Wright MP will be re-elected.

Bad luck Simon
