Jesmond Sainsbury’s closes early amid reports of an alleged robbery

It is alleged that some money has been stolen


The Sainsbury’s opposite West Jesmond Metro station has closed early on Tuesday (21st) and The Tab have been informed of an alleged robbery in the store.

At 8:45pm there were two Police cars outside the store while Sainsbury’s staff were turning would-be customers away at the door, citing a reported ‘incident’.

A Sainsbury’s member of staff told The Tab that some money had been taken.

The Tab have contacted Northumbria Police for comment.
