Bar Blanc and The Tab are hosting a charity live acoustic session on Monday

It’s raising money for Great Ormond Street

The Tab Newcastle and Bar Blanc are teaming up again to bring you a Acoustic Happy Hour session on Monday 5th December.

This time round the event will raise money for Great Ormond Street Hospital, the world-renowned children’s hospital that receives 268,000 patient visits every year. This comes as The Tab launches a national campaign to raise money for the Research Centre.

Since The Tab Newcastle and Bar Blac teamed up in November 2014 events have raised over £1,000 for charities including Teenage Cancer Trust and MIND.

Manager of Bar Blanc, Amica Puri, said she hopes people will give generously: “The charity we’ve chosen in December is one that we’ve all heard of and it delivers world-leading healthcare for children. We hope people will give generously and enjoy the live music!”

Newcastle Editor at The Tab, Elliot Lewis, said: “We’re really proud of the money that we’ve raised over two years of teaming up with Bar Blanc. Amica and George and the team behind the bar have been instrumental in bringing together good music for good causes.”

Bar Blanc hold acoustic nights every two weeks but for this charity edition there will also be a raffle and a “guess the amount of condoms in a bowl”.

GOSH’s mission statement is: “Our mission is to provide world-class care to children and young people with rare, complex and difficult-to-treat conditions. Due to the concentration of these patients at this hospital, we must also strive to learn from treating these conditions.

“We need to harness the latest developments in medical science to discover new treatments and cures that that will benefit children across the world. This mission can only be achieved through working in partnership with our children and their families, other healthcare providers, leading research institutions and our charity.”
